VETERINARY TRIVIA!

What Is the difference between a VMD and a DVM?

Only Penn Vet School gives its degrees in Latin - Veterinaria Medicinea Doctoris, or VMD.

Amy McGee, DVM received her veterinary degree from Western University, and has worked at veterinary hospitals in California and Maryland. Her many hospital externships include a rotation in Avian and Exotic Medicine at Angell Memorial Animal Center in Boston.

Robert Sidorsky, DVM joined the staff in 2005. Previously, Dr. Sidorsky practiced in Shelburne Falls and taught at Northfield-Mt. Hermon School. He is a graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine and is originally from northern California.

Debora Lichtenberg, VMD is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine who has been in practice for over 20 years. A native of New York City, she completed her pre-medical studies at Bryn Mawr College after earning her MFA in Theatre from UMass/Amherst. While her care and devotion extends to all of her patients, among her special veterinary interests are small animal oncology and ferret care and surgery. Dr. Lichtenberg is Pelham's Animal Inspector. Her other interests include gardening and attending independent films and theatre. Her two sons are now grown and on their own. She has two beloved cocker spaniels (both rescues) and two aging family cats.

Andy Lichtenberg (Hospital Administrator) has managed the practice since it opened in 1992. He has a background in the arts and administration, and his UMass/Amherst MFA is also in Theatre. Andy is associated with local performance groups as an actor and musician, notably Old Deerfield Productions and the 1794 Meetinghouse in New Salem. He has been active in Pelham government for many years, and he also provides Notary Public services.
